Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Information you give us when you request a quote, place an order, ask for design help or contact us: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address and ZIP code, the pieces and options you choose, and any notes or room photos you send.
• Account information if you sign in: your name and email address, so you can see your quotes and orders.
• Payment information is entered on and processed by our payment processors. We never see or store your full card number.
• Saved lists on your device. Your quote list and favorites are kept in your own browser’s storage so they are there when you come back. You can clear them at any time by clearing your browser data.
• Basic technical information that any website receives, such as your browser type and IP address, which our servers use to deliver pages and keep the site secure. We also count visits on our own server: which pages are viewed, the approximate state or country a visit comes from, the website that linked you here and the type of device. We do not keep your full IP address for this, we do not use tracking cookies, and this information is not shared with anyone.

How we use it

• To prepare quotes, take payment, and build, deliver and support your order.
• To answer your questions and design requests, and to email or call you about them.
• To calculate delivery and sales tax, and to keep the business and tax records the law requires.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade our customer list.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the companies that help us run the store, and only what each one needs:

• Payment processors, to take and secure your payment.
• The workshops and carriers who build and deliver your furniture: your name, delivery address and phone number, so they can make and bring your order.
• Our business software and email providers, which hold our order, accounting and email records on our behalf.
• When required by law, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.

Visitors from social media

If you reach us from a social media site or another website, we may see which page or pin sent you. We use that only to learn which of our rooms and products people find useful. We do not send your personal information back to those sites. Each of them has its own privacy policy covering what you do on their platform.

How long we keep it

We keep order and payment records for as long as tax and business law requires (generally seven years). Quote requests and design-help messages that don’t become orders are kept only as long as they are useful to you, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.

Your choices

• You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you.
• You can unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link in it, or by asking us.
• You can browse the whole site and save favorites without creating an account.

To make a request, email sales@houndstoothonherringbone.com. We will answer within 30 days. We keep records we are legally required to keep, such as tax records, even after a deletion request.

Security

Our site uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections, payments are handled by our payment processors, and access to customer records is limited to the people who need it to serve you. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information.

Children

This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
